COVID 19 Guidelines

Hello Judoka,

To practice Judo in a safe space while mitigating the risk of COVID-19, we advise our members to follow these guidelines:

  • Please do not come to practice if you have recently been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. This could include a roommate, a partner, a close friend, etc. In this case, please get tested and self-isolate until you have received a negative test result. If you do end up being positive, let us know. We’d like to keep in touch with you and get updates. You can return to practice once you have that negative test result.
  • In the event that you came to practice and find out afterward that a close contact (as defined in 1) has tested positive for COVID-19 and believe that you may have been exposed, please reach out to a club officer as soon as you can. You can contact Tirza Angerhofer through Facebook, use the contact page on the Gator Judo Club website (http://gatorjudo.com), or email gatorjudoclub@gmail.com. We will reach out to all those who attended practice and warn them to limit interactions while we wait for your test result. In the event that a test is pending, we will cancel practice to stay on the safe side, so please make sure that you get tested promptly. If you receive a negative test result AND have not been in contact with your positive close contact since you took your test, you may return to practice.
  • If you were at a practice and receive notice that someone may have had COVID-19 during that practice, we encourage you to get tested (which you can do for free through the University of Florida). In the event that this person receives a positive test result, we ask everyone to get tested and receive a negative test result before returning to practice. If you do not want to get tested, you can wait two weeks before coming to practice, assuming that you show no symptoms. Results from the UF tests only take about two days to come back. For this reason, we do not think practices should be disrupted for more than a week.
  • As always, please make sure you are following the rules that we have laid out in our plan for the semester. As a reminder, keep your bags separate at practice and drink water at least 6ft away from each other. Wear masks and social distance. Together we can ensure that our club does not become a vector of disease.

Best,
