Gator Judo Club is a student-run group of athletes and hobbyists at the University of Florida connected by our common love of judo. On the mat, the only distinction between judoka is the belt around your waist. A judoka's beliefs and background aren't an obstacle to their success. We are united by our respect for the sport and for each other. Our mission is to educate, inspire, and connect judoka throughout Florida and beyond. One of our utmost goals is to educate interested students about the values and skills we train by. Judo is a sport that requires self-discipline, mental toughness, courage, and respect. The foundation of judo involves the idea that, through training, anyone can become a skilled judoka. For this reason, we encourage our members to train hard and compete in the numerous tournaments and scrimmages we organize and attend throughout the United States. Our connections with other clubs and schools are what make these events possible, and are a key element in the judo network that we wish to build.
